Jeannette Curtis

Published Performance Poet

Jeannette Curtis – Rideau has been an Englewood resident for over 40 years. She is a retired Clinical Speech/ Language pathologist who worked in the school system in the latter part of her career on its Child Study Team.

She is a published performance poet and has performed with several Jazz musicians and distinguished poets such as Nikki Giovanni. She owned the Plaza Gallery in Englewood and has curated art exhibitions in this area.She has served as a judge in the Poetry Out Loud Competitions in Bergen County, is Chair of the Board of African Voices a NY literary Magazine, serves on the selection Committee of the Teaneck International Film Festival, on the Board of Trustees of The Barrymore Film Center in Ft. Lee New Jersey, a member of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Committee and is a Founding/ Charter member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Bergen / Passaic Chapter.
